Madame Chose is the second chapter of the living novel „Le Cabinet des Arts“, by Sandra Hauser.
The novel is narrated in several chapters and the centre point, main character, is Madame Magritte, a kind of a contemporary Diva. During the chapter performances, the audience is making acquaintance with the social circumference of Madame Magritte, with all the people emotionally bonded with Madame Magritte. She, for her self, for the time being, stays for us hidden in the secrecy. Madame Chose is a composer complying with beloved Madame Magritte’s request to compose one air, one melody only for her. On the way of finding the key to her music, Madame Chose is loosing her self more and more in the deepnesses of “Le Cabinet des Arts”.
„It was not my intent to make you lose you mind, Madame Chose.
I thought it would be so nice to have a melody from thee.
My own one, that belongs only to me. Like “Senza fine puor moi”, from thee.
When I’ve found out, it was to late.
If only I had known that your key to the music was forlorn,
that you cannot sleep, I have had returned immediately.
I could have helped you to search for it. But you understand, I had to leave.
I’ve had so much to do.” Madame Magritte
At the 2010 exhibit of The Academy of Arts in Munich, the viewer made premier acquaintance with Madame Chose and her special piano and witnessed a 10 days live composition. It was success compared to Marina Abramovics performances. Every chapter of this novel is performed as a living picture without beginning and without an end. The viewer can step into it, just like he is stepping into an internal of a movie, a theatre play or somebody’s life. The viewer is stepping into “Le Cabinet des Arts”.
